the David Lynch of epic fantasy

I stumbled upon a mention of the Vivian Amberville series on a reddit forum. As i read it, I realized it was a really interesting fantasy world at the center of which were thoughts and mind over matter, but most importantly, dreams. I also read other stuff by Blackwick and I noticed she has a unique style of blending dream constructs into fiction in a very seamless way. Vivian Amberville is like Harry Potter, if it were written and directed by David Lynch. It has a surreal, dreamlike thing about it, like a waking dream or perhaps, a nightmare, and at the same time, it evokes moments of intense humour and epicness. The start system doesn't entirely represent my rating but I would rate it 8.5/10. I'm looking forward to the sequel, which should be due this year.
