Vivian's story is one of beauty and also of hardship. It unravels gently at first, and then faster and faster like a ball of yarn. I was absolutely amazed by Mrs. Blackwick's incredible worlds, characters, lore. The journeys those characters took paints a vivid tapestry of human suffering and the beauty of imagination. Despite it being a fantasy book, it feels real, more real than anything I've read in a long long time.
